We combine the world-leading language teaching methodologies
and choose the teaching style that compliments your learning style best!
As a seasoned traveler with a lifelong passion for learning languages and exploring diverse educational systems, my teaching philosophy for both English as a Second Language and Music is rooted in principles of ethnomusicology and cultural preservation.
In my Music classes, I take a holistic approach by combining the most effective teaching methods to date, including Orff-Schulwerk, Kodaly, World Music Pedagogy, and Solfege. Through engaging activities like playing musical games, listening to world music, and discussing world history and culture, I encourage my students to develop their musical skills while also gaining a deeper appreciation for the rich diversity of global cultures.
Furthermore, I believe in integrating other subjects like language arts, visual arts, history, geography, and science into my Music curriculum. By creating phenomenon-based units, I help my students see the interconnectedness of different subjects and cultivate a love for lifelong learning.
In my English as a Second Language classes, I use a similar approach, drawing on my knowledge of language learning methods and cultural sensitivity. By using music and other arts-based activities, I help my students develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a fun and engaging way.
Ultimately, my goal as an educator is to build connections with other teachers, inspire my students to become lifelong learners, and foster a love for music and language that will stay with them for years to come. I have attached a sample of my curriculum to provide a glimpse into my teaching methods and approach.
